Basic Direct Cremation
Starting at $995
Direct Cremation is for families who want a simple and flexible farewell without a viewing or service.
- Transfer of the deceased to our care within 30 mile radius of 7925 E. Main St. *
- Dignified care of the deceased with refrigeration (no embalming required).
- Self Directed Arrangements Online/Phone Consultation
- Preparation and filing of all necessary documents for cremation
- Family may order their own death certificates from respective board of health
- Basic cremation container and basic urn.**
- Cremation at one of our onsite and owned crematories
- Cremation typically takes place within 3-5 days after completion of authorization and death
certificate (total typical time is 10-14 days) - Our Hassle-Free 4 step Cremation Process:
- Coordinating completion and filing of the death certificate with physician/coroner
- Identification either at place of passing or online photo identification
- Pickup from two locations in Greater Columbus

Premium Direct Cremation
Starting at $1395
This package includes everything included in the Basic Direct Cremation plus the following:
- Includes 1 Certified Death Certificate plus obtaining additional certified death certificates from the board of health so the family doesn’t have get them from the board of health on their own (cost of copies is additional)
- Permanent Wood Urn included**
- Priority Cremation (Cremation will take place within 72 hours of completion of necessary documents and death certificate)
- Publishing obituary with photo on our website and Legacy.com

Plan Your Own Memorial Direct Cremation
Starting at $1,750
This package includes everything included in the Premium Direct Cremation plus the following:
- This package includes items that may be desired for hosting your own memorial or life
- celebration service.
- Make it Personal Photo Memorial Folders, Guest Book, 4 laminated bookmarks, and
- Acknowledgement Cards
- Photo tribute video on USB drive or DVD up to 100 photos

The Woodyard family and staff has been providing compassionate care to help families navigate one of life's most difficult moments for almost 100 years. We have helped families plan and conduct services to remember and honor their loved ones at a reasonable cost. Our story begins in 1927 when Omar Reece Woodyard became a licensed funeral director and established his first funeral home at 1346 S. High St. During the first 6 years while establishing the business he continued to work the night shift at Timken Roller Bearing Plant. His hard work and dedication to helping families in need paid off over the years. In 1944 Mr. Woodyard opened a second location downtown at 255 E. State St. In 1985 the Woodyard family opened the 3rd location at 2990 Bethel Road and a 3rd generation of funeral service started when Dean A. Woodyard became an officer and funeral director along with another key director Gary L. Drake - Woodyard.
In 2005 and 2023 the company acquired Myers Funeral Home in Groveport and Pfeifer Funeral Home in Reynoldsburg, respectively.
The Woodyard family from the start of their time in funeral service has always been about value and providing compassionate care at reasonable prices. In 2024 we decided it was time to continue mission by starting Simply Cremation Ohio. This online cremation service allows families who want simplicity in their arrangements to do those online at a reduced cost. Families that choose this as their provider know their loved one will be cared for by a locally owned and operated family who has provided care to many over its years in business.
